How Long Does BOTOX Last?

BOTOX® has been known to last up to six months. The duration of results will vary from patient to patient. In general, the average outcome from BOTOX® can be expected to last approximately three to four months. Regular maintenance sessions can help to extend its rejuvenative effects.

Dysport

DYSPORTt® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age

How long does Dysport last?

After about a year of treatments, you can often go longer between treatments because it takes less effort for those muscles to relax. Dysport is FDA approved to last four months, but, like Botox, it may last as long as six months, depending on the individual

How long does Dysport take to work?

2-3 days

Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes. How long does it take Dysport to work? Though results vary, over half of users see improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows within 2-3 days

The botox/Jeuveau units needed for treatment vary depending on each patient. On average, forehead lines will need 20 units for temporary improvement of moderate to severe lines

Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?

 

Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you "had the work" done. The muscle activity that causes the lines is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.

 

+ What will happen to the lines if I choose not to continue treatment?

 

If you don't continue treatments, the lines will gradually look like they did before treatment.

+ Can I exercise after Botox treatment?

We advise that you refrain from exercising at least 6 hours post injections. We also ask that you don't massage the injection area to help avoid the medication from spreading further than expected.

+ Is it Ok to use Botox during pregnancy?

The use of Botox during pregnancy or breastfeeding hasn't been studied. Therefore, we recommend that you don't receive Botox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

+ How long does it take to work?

You may begin to see results within 48 to 72 hours. The optimum results will be at 7 to 14 days. 


+ How long does it last?

The duration of Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport will vary from patient to patient. Typically, Botox will last 4 months once a patient has had consistent treatment. At our Med spa in Phoenix, we tell our patients that the first treatment with Botox will last about 2 and a half months, the second time about 3 months and after that every 3.5 to 4.5 months. We recommend that you stay up on your injections for the best results in eliminating wrinkles.

Minimal Downtime: Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport injection can be done within 10 minutes, which makes it easy to fit into your life schedule. You can get in, out, and on with your day immediately afterward. 

Minimally Pain: Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport injection is usually not painful. Many people can return to their normal activity without any discomfort. During the procedure, your specialist may use ice or a topical numbing cream to enhance comfort.

+ What should I do before & after treatment?

Pre-Procedure Instruction for Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport:
Avoid the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ginko Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Green Tea, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A and E, and essential fatty acids for up to 1-week pre and post injection as they will increase your risk of bruising.

 

+ Post-Procedure Instruction for Botox/Jeuveau/Dysport:
After treatment, you should remain upright for six hours. Keep your head as erect as possible during this time and avoid bending down. 
For six hours after botox injection, avoid:
Rubbing the injection sites
Exercising
Wearing a hat or a headband
